Pastor Gaolatlhe Regina Molokomme attended the Development of Cooperatives and Rural Development Training Course in Israel during 2001 (MASHAV) and has maintained close ties with the Embassy ever since. As both past and present President of the Shalom Club for the Embassy of Israel in South Africa, she is determined to make a difference in building the capacity of others in Southern Africa and help build the relationship between past alumni, their organizations and the State of Israel through networking.
Previous experience led her to work with a Citrus Cooperative in Winterveldt, where expertise from the Israeli Embassy in South Africa was brought to this project through the TIPA initiative (TIPA is based on the concept of the African Market Garden and was first presented by MASHAV at the World Summit for Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in August 2002).
She has also worked with HIV/AIDS related issues through the network of religious leaders throughout South Africa. She further engaged community members in capacity building training to form cooperatives and to register their organizations with the government. This process was a huge success and led to her receiving a Red Ribbon Award in 2008 from UNAIDS in Mexico for her community engagement in South Africa.
In 2011 she registered her organization: Positive Gospel and left the country to study Theology abroad and now has a MA in Christian Leadership. After graduating, she coordinated a project that involved refugees from Africa and found that her MASHAV training came in useful once again.
Pastor Regina is passionate about engaging the youth constructively in community development programs and has worked closely with the Embassy on successful initiatives concerning girl empowerment projects in her community. She is very actively involved in promoting Children's Ministry in the local churches that she visits where she teaches the young the importance of praying for Israel.
Pastor Regina is currently in the process of establishing a mentoring programme involving local schools in the Moses Kotane Municipal area.
Maintaining her role as part of the Shalom Club of the Embassy of Israel in South Africa continues to play an integral part in helping to achieve her purpose and aspirations.
